Mount Etna, the largest active volcano in Europe spewed out molten lava on Sunday. The eruption caused a crater to open on the south-eastern side.
The white-hot lava jets were thrown over 600 feet above Etna while a spout on the southeast flank of the volcano released two streams of lava in the direction of an uninhabited area.
So far, there have been no reports of evacuations in the area. This is the third active eruption since March 29. The last one occurred on April 11. |
